How to earn with Vibe Coding: services, first client, and pricing calculation

A buyer needs a site that generates leads or a tool that removes routine. AI helps create this, but the mere act of generating code does not create income. We examine five working models, real market data, and the path from a small demo to a paid result.

Can you make money with Vibe Coding?

Yes, you can build a service around creating websites, prototypes, automations, and internal tools with the help of AI. But income occurs when a client agrees on a price and pays for a useful result. You need order searching, work verification, agreed scope, and responsibility for support. If the term is new, start by explaining what Vibe Coding is and who a vibe coder is.

Report Upwork In-Demand Skills 2026 shows growth for AI Integration by 178%, and AI Chatbot Development by 71%. The methodology measures demand through freelancer earnings in US orders for 2025 compared to 2024. This is not the number of vacancies, not Ukraine statistics, and not a beginner's income forecast. Web development and web design also remain on the list of in-demand fields.

Real example: an agency, not "one prompt — a million"

In Lovable publications from September 9, 2026 describes Imaginary Space: 18 employees, over 300 client projects, and $1.2M ARR. This is client data provided by the supplier, without independent audit. ARR means Annual Recurring Revenue, not the owner's profit. The same publication describes O3 World, where an internal resource planning app, according to the company, saves approximately $35,000 per year. Savings are also not revenue.

The applicable takeaway from these examples: you can sell the solution to a specific work problem. The scale of a team, its experience, and access to clients do not automatically transfer to a person who only opened an AI builder yesterday.

Five ways to earn: what exactly the customer buys

Below is an editorial service map. This is not a profitability ranking or a promise of demand for every idea.

ServiceSpecific resultWhat to check
Service website or portfolioDescription, works, terms, contacts, and one clear visitor action.Phone, links, readability, photo rights; for forms — actual delivery of the application.
Routine automationFor example, transferring approved applications to a spreadsheet and notifying the responsible person.Resending, duplicates, erroneous data, external service failure.
Calculator or internal toolCalculations based on client rules or a convenient representation of their data.Formulas based on known examples, rounding, access, export, and backups.
Prototype to test an ideaA demo of one scenario for an interview or presentation.Clearly mark demo data and functions; do not sell a mockup as a finished system.
Support for a finished projectAgreed updates, fixes, and checks.Work limit, response time, backup, and responsibility for service payments.

For a first attempt, it is more practical to choose a small website with an external link for contact than a marketplace with payments and private accounts. Automations require data and integration skills. See AI for programming comparison, website creation instructions and a guide on Telegram bots.

Or your own SaaS or digital product?

This is a different model: you look for the problem, the audience, the sales channel, and the paying demand yourself. You need payment processing, product delivery, support, and expense tracking. First, show a demo to potential buyers and find out what they are willing to pay for. Free sign-ups and compliments do not equal purchases. Client services allow you to verify a problem through direct conversation; your own product can scale, but it requires separate work on user acquisition.

How to find your first client: from problem to small order

  1. Choose a familiar audience. For example, photographers, teachers, or small studios. Subject matter expertise helps in asking precise questions.
  2. Find a recurring inconvenience. Do people not see the portfolio on their phones? Do you have to explain prices every single time? Ask how the process works now and what is time-consuming. Do not attribute a problem to a business without verifying it.
  3. Make one demo. Use a fictional brand clearly marked as a demonstration or your own materials. Do not invent reviews, case studies, or client results.
  4. Look where there is demand. Referrals from acquaintances, professional groups with allowed advertisements, open tasks on freelance platforms. Respond to a specific need; mass-sending the same text is not a substitute for research.
  5. Offer a small paid scope. Show the result, boundaries, timeframe, and payment procedure. Do not promise guaranteed sales if you are only selling page development.

A working question for the first conversation: "What is the one action a visitor should take on the site, and how will we verify that it works?" For the demonstration, we already have our free service site sample with a prompt.

How much to charge for a site made with AI?

There is no universal price "for Vibe Coding." Estimate the entire scope: requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing, bug fixing, publishing, and handover. The time to generate the first version is only part of the work.

Here is a hypothetical training calculation, not a market price: 3 hours for briefing and materials, 5 for implementation, 3 for testing, 1 for handover. Total 12 hours. At an example rate of 500 UAH/hour, this is 6000 UAH. Add 600 UAH in direct expenses and 1200 UAH as a reserve for agreed fixes: 7800 UAH.

This 7800 UAH is the proposal price before taxes and other excluded costs, not net profit. External subscriptions, domain, hosting, commissions, and ongoing support should be itemized separately: who pays, how much, and for what period. Tax status and payment processing should be clarified for your specific situation.

If the work took 20 hours instead of 12, the estimate was too optimistic. Track actual time and use it for your next proposal. Use our free "Vibe-Brief" prototype for estimates or start with the AI project planner.

When a client asks "add this too"

First, record the change: the new feature, its price, impact on the timeline, and verification criteria. Do not rewrite already received payment as a new prepayment. For example, if 1500 UAH of work was added to the agreed 7800 UAH: the new total is 9300 UAH. If 3900 UAH has been received, the balance is 5400 UAH. This is an arithmetic example, not a contract or advice on mandatory advance percentages.

Example: portfolio site for a photographer

Hypothetical order. One page, up to 12 provided photographs, three service packages, work description, contacts, and a button to an agreed messenger. One round of edits within the agreed blocks. The client provides the texts, images, and the right to use them. Booking, online payment, a user dashboard, and writing texts from scratch are not included in this example.

Create a responsive portfolio website for a photographer using the provided materials.
Goal: the visitor views the work and moves to a messenger.
Blocks: introduction, 12 photos, three packages, about the author, contacts.
Do not invent names, reviews, awards, or prices.
Mark missing data as unfilled and show a list of them.
First propose a structure, then implement the agreed version.
Do not add a database, authorization, or payment.
Check: mobile screen, keyboard, links, image sizes.
Report which checks were actually performed and which were left undone.

This is a starter task, not a guarantee of quality. The rules for transferring client materials to the chosen AI service must be agreed upon. If you are still mastering the tool, it will help an AI learning plan through your own practice.

What to check before delivery

  • The main scenario is completed from start to finish; links lead where they should.
  • There are no cut-off buttons or horizontal scrolling of the entire page on a phone.
  • If there is a form, verify successful delivery, error, and resubmission; only necessary data is collected.
  • Keys and passwords have not ended up in the public code. A competent technical check has been performed for accounts and payments.
  • The client received access in an appropriate manner, along with instructions, a list of services, and support terms.
  • A working version is saved, and it is clear how to restore it after unsuccessful changes.

Separate instructions: API key protection, AI code verification and a domain, publication, and indexing. Do not call a service "unsupported" if the client depends on your accounts or undocumented settings.

Frequently asked questions about earning through Vibe Coding

Can I start without knowing programming?

You can start learning and making simple demonstrations. You should charge for the result that you can verify and support yourself or together with a competent partner. Complexity does not disappear just because a model wrote the code.

Is there a "vibe coder salary"?

The name of the working method does not define a single income level. Duties, skills, responsibility, and results are what get paid. An agency's revenue data is not the salary of its founder or a newcomer.

Which tool is best for earning?

The one in which you can bring a specific project to a verified result, hand it over to the client, and control costs. The name of the model itself does not bring clients. Compare tools on the same small task.

Can I earn passive income?

Digital products can be sold automatically after setting up payment and delivery. But customer acquisition, updates, returns, and support remain work. A ready file without purchases does not create passive income.

How much can I earn per month?

Without data on your audience, portfolio, sales, and expenses, it is impossible to predict an exact amount. Calculate separately the number of paid projects, revenue, direct costs, time, and profit. Do not confuse inquiries with payments.

Real case: money from an AI browser game

The story of fly.pieter.com by Pieter Levels shows monetization through paid aircraft and advertising. We analyze primary sources, the difference between ARR and actual cash received, and why early success was not proof of a sustainable business.

Sources and limitations of conclusions

  1. Upwork In-Demand Skills 2026 — platform statistics and methodology.
  2. Lovable Partner Program, 09.09.2026 — client development cases stated by the company, not an independent audit.

Service models, a photographer's scenario, and calculations are our educational examples. We do not present them as completed orders or editorial earnings.
